From Tuesday, June 16, Abu Dhabi citizens will be limited in travel into, out of and between regions for another week. The movement ban covers road entry into and out between Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra for 24 hours per day.
The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee, has issued there directive in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Health Abu Dhabi. This decision was taken as part of the National Screening Programme, UAE’s government implements a range of regulations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
According to the latest reviews, the most effective way to control the degree of population containment is to restrain people’s movement and provide expansive testing. During previous movement restriction, there were tested more than 388,000 people.
The government highlighted that there are exceptions for frontline workers; people suffering from chronic diseases and need to visit healthcare providers outside named emirate; and workers who transport goods between regions.
Everyone who needs to travel outside, between emirates has to fill out a request form for the permits at es.adpolice.gov.ae. The movement restrictions will be reviewed again on June 22, 2020.
