After a long time of quarantine, Ajman will issue a new list of regulations on malls, restaurants, cafes and other businesses during the Holy month of Ramadan. The emirate implemented all preventive measures in place to stop public gatherings and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Firstly, all citizens have to use face masks and optionally use gloves when leaving their homes. The time of outdoor presence is limited to four hours and a distance of two meters from each other. Gatherings of more than 10 people in homes are prohibited.
Shopping malls can start work as of April 28 from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily, but only 30 percent of the shops in the malls can be open at one time. Shops, malls, restaurants and cafes cannot exceed 30 percent customer capacity.
Moreover, buffets and shisha cafes are still banned from opening and all restaurants and cafes are obliged to provide only disposable tableware to their customers. Cinemas, other attractions and changing rooms must remain closed under new guidelines.
Despite the Ramadaan, gathering for religious reasons like prayer is still prohibited and prayer rooms will not be open in public areas. People are allowed to go outside for sport exercising individually or with one other family member but near their home and for only one hour per day. Group sports activities are still not allowed.
Beauty salons can reopen, but only hairdressing and nail services, with sanitizing all equipment after each use and protecting their staff. The sanitazion programme will resume every evening from 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM when no one is allowed to leave their home.
Companies are allowed to open their offices but cannot exceed more than 30 percent of the staff in the workplace. The rest of the workers should continue to work remotely. Meetings or gatherings of more than five people are prohibited and offices cannot operate more than eight hours per day.
