The Ajman Police have claimed a warning to the parents leaving their children alone in cars. As now there are regulations operating in UAE, which ban children under 10 years to enter malls and public places, many parents start leaving their kids in cars whilst shopping in malls.
According to the police media channels, due to the current restrictions on taking children under 10 years of age to shopping malls, parents leave their kids in cars with the engine running and air-conditioner switched on.
The police states “Parents must know that such an act is punishable by law as it poses risk to the child’s life”. There was a launch of an awareness campaign titled “Your responsibility”, initiated to stop such improvident actions during limitations aimed at the fight against the COVID-19.
“It is dangerous to leave young children alone inside the vehicles, especially with the high temperature outside. The hot temperature causes air conditioners in cars to emit toxic gases that could cause suffocation to the children. This could even become deadly,” claimed law enforcement agencies.
Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus which is causing illness in humans and animals. Most people infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus will feel mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without any special treatment. Older people, as well as those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, cancer or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness, and require immediate assistance. Novel Coronavirus was first identified in a cluster with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan city, Hubei province of China, quickly spreading around the world. On early March 2020, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had officially started, becoming the defining global health crisis of our time. Today, it is the greatest challenge people have faced since World War II, worsened by subsequent lockdowns of whole countries, collapse of entire industries, and a major economic recession.
