Previously, Abu Dhabi authorities announced that from Tuesday, June 2, the capital will face movement restrictions, which would be put in a temporary manner. The restrictions are also applied to travel between Al Ain and Al Dhafrah.
Individual, who needs to buy essentials such as groceries or pharmacy, between 10:00 PM and 06:00 AM, must apply for a movement permit. Abu Dhabi Police has claimed that this can be applied for via its website. Provided not following the rules, violators will face an AED 2,000 fine.
It has been said that movement restrictions will be lasting for one week from Tuesday, June 2, but still, this is subject to change. Also, there are exceptions for some special categories, including employees of vital sectors, chronic disease patients, who need visiting hospitals, and those transporting goods.
Abu Dhabi continues the National Disinfectant Programme and provides mass testing to combat the spread of COVID-19. If a resident has to travel between emirates and fall into the “exemptions category”, one can apply via the “Movement Permits System – Abu Dhabi” page on the Abu Dhabi Police website.
To accept permit, you need to fill out name, city, and “destination type” such as pharmacy, hospital, or “exit Abu Dhabi”. The next step is indicating the number of people traveling in your vehicle, and a start and end date. Abu Dhabi Police urged the public “to adhere to the decisions issued by the competent authorities and to comply with the specified timings of the national sterilization program within the emirate’s cities.”
Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus which is causing illness in humans and animals. Most people infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus will feel mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without any special treatment. Older people, as well as those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, cancer or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness, and require immediate assistance. Novel Coronavirus was first identified in a cluster with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan city, Hubei province of China, quickly spreading around the world. On early March 2020, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had officially started, becoming the defining global health crisis of our time. Today, it is the greatest challenge people have faced since World War II, worsened by subsequent lockdowns of whole countries, collapse of entire industries, and a major economic recession.
