Before deciding to travel, one should always remember to check on the currently active rules on official websites with reliable sources, for example – UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention. As rules and regulations tend to be revised as the global situation with COVID-19 pandemic changes, it is important to be aware of all the latest developments.
The UAE authorities are doing all they can to ensure the safety and security of everyone living or visiting UAE, expecting a certain degree of cooperation in return. During pandemic times, everyone should comply with any additional measures introduced by local authorities, for example – obligatory PCR tests upon arrival and self-isolation while waiting for the results. Failing to comply with these measures might face fines or other legal procedures.
The same applies to those who wish to travel from UAE. Although the government announced a set of conditions to weaken the restrictions starting from June 23, it still includes a high level of caution and expected self-control and conscience from travelers.
All travel destinations will be categorized into 3 groups: “low risk”, “medium risk”, and “high risk”. UAE citizens and residents will be allowed to visit the first category. The second one can be allowed to travel under special circumstances. As always there are specific measures for diplomats, students, and those in essential jobs.
In order to travel, you will require:
– Having international health insurance, pre-travel check-up;
– Fill out the health status form (people who test positive will be forbidden from traveling);
– You should follow all the instructions at the airports and onboard of aircraft;
– Have to submit a request to travel abroad and register with the “Twajudi” service;
– Having the government’s application “AlHOSN” pre-downloaded and registered for using later upon return to UAE.
Of course, a set of common-sense rules besides the official quarantine protocol exists, for example – a frequent wash of hands, usage of hand sanitizers, avoid touching the face, and others. Furthermore, it is important to note the general guidelines, which were, and will be in use while traveling:
– Pack with caution and avoid bringing forbidden items to the airport;
– Follow dress code (both men and women) and respect local customs;
– Practice social distancing;
– Be calm and patient, control yourself, and respect people around you.
We wish everyone safe travels!
Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus which is causing illness in humans and animals. Most people infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus will feel mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without any special treatment. Older people, as well as those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, cancer or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness, and require immediate assistance. Novel Coronavirus was first identified in a cluster with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan city, Hubei province of China, quickly spreading around the world. On early March 2020, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had officially started, becoming the defining global health crisis of our time. Today, it is the greatest challenge people have faced since World War II, worsened by subsequent lockdowns of whole countries, collapse of entire industries, and a major economic recession.
