Under decision of the Sharjah Executive Council, all social and sporting events across the emirate will be canceled until the end of April. Also, celebrations in wedding halls, event halls, hotels, and government and community facilities will be excluded.
The decision shall be implemented as part of preventive and precautionary measures taken to contain the spread of the coronavirus, in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.
The new regulations of the decision come to force from April 1 and to be operational until the end of April 2020, extendable if needed. Such a decision was taken to highlight the country’s efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus.
