Media reports that residents have to stay indoors from 08:00 PM on Thursday, March 26 to 06:00 AM on Sunday, March 29. As during this time all public places, government departments and the streets across the country, all public transport are being disinfected.
The 3-days sterilization will strictly limit residents’ movement and forbid them to leave homes except to buy food, necessities or medicines. Only workers from energy, telecommunications, public media, health, security and police sectors may leave their homes but they will be asked to show work permits.
Throughout the sterilization period, traffic and public movement will be restricted, and public transport and metro services suspended. Farida Al Hosani, an official spokesperson for the UAE health sector, urged the public to avoid gatherings of family and friends while services carry out a program of sanitation.
In the case of violating given directives, there will be deterrent measures undertaken including fines and imprisonment against those who don’t comply with the national sterilization program instructions. People are strongly recommended to stay at home during these three days aimed at the combat of COVID-19.
Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus which is causing illness in humans and animals. Most people infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus will feel mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without any special treatment. Older people, as well as those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, cancer or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness, and require immediate assistance. Novel Coronavirus was first identified in a cluster with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan city, Hubei province of China, quickly spreading around the world. On early March 2020, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had officially started, becoming the defining global health crisis of our time. Today, it is the greatest challenge people have faced since World War II, worsened by subsequent lockdowns of whole countries, collapse of entire industries, and a major economic recession.
