The authorities of UAE decided that due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus from March 15 to March 31 all entertainment destinations should suspend their work and all recreational activities will not be held. All cultural and entertainment events planned for the second half of March are canceled or postponed. The organizers of the events are responsible for such actions and it is they who should clarify information about the date of the event and the validity of tickets.
As part of the efforts to combat the outbreak of coronavirus, the Dubai authorities issued a circular on March 15, which orders to close all cinemas, theme parks, game centers, gyms and other places of potential crowding. This also applies to all wedding ceremonies, which are traditionally held in hotels and wedding halls. Similar measures have been taken in other emirates, particularly in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Ajman.
So if you were going to attend a concert or performance, visit an exhibition or a museum, such actions will have to be postponed. Concert halls, theaters, museums, historical sites, public libraries are closed. Night clubs, spas, and other such places also suspend their work.
It is also reported that the Global Village will be closed until next season. Motiongate Dubai, Legoland Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, Yas Water World, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Manarat Al Saadiyat, and some other theme parks as well as major cultural and entertainment destinations in UAE will also be closed.
Under current orders, all cultural and entertainment events were stopped until the end of March, but this period can be extended if the situation requires it. The implementation of orders will be monitored by special inspectors. Violators will be punished by law.
For those who were planning to visit UAE in the near future, it will be useful to know that the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship temporarily suspended the issuance of all types of visas from March 17 (this will not apply only to holders of diplomatic passports). Until the authorities develop a methodology for checking all those entering and a set of measures to prevent the spread of the virus, such a ban will continue.
Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus which is causing illness in humans and animals. Most people infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus will feel mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without any special treatment. Older people, as well as those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, cancer or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness, and require immediate assistance. Novel Coronavirus was first identified in a cluster with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan city, Hubei province of China, quickly spreading around the world. On early March 2020, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had officially started, becoming the defining global health crisis of our time. Today, it is the greatest challenge people have faced since World War II, worsened by subsequent lockdowns of whole countries, collapse of entire industries, and a major economic recession.
