The Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management has updated information for returning residents flying to Dubai. Previously, UAE residents were allowed to come without approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA).
But, as Dubai has its own immigration system, residents flying into the emirate still do require an entry permit from the GDRFA. Besides the permit, travelers will have to obtain a valid negative PCR-test certificate within 96 hours before boarding their flight. This measure will help to avoid 14-day home quarantine.
The test can be done at a creditable overseas laboratory, which is any clinic approved by the government in that specific country. Also, all returning residents are obliged to download the COVID-19 DXB Smart App (Apple apps or Google apps) and report on any important updates regarding the travel.
Also, passengers who have a visa issued by other emirates don’t require to apply for permits. Any other emirate will have residents automatically approved for the entry. The ICA immigration service has claimed that residents planning to travel abroad should upload their personal information including an ID number, passport, and nationality.
Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus which is causing illness in humans and animals. Most people infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus will feel mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without any special treatment. Older people, as well as those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, chronic respiratory disease, cancer or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness, and require immediate assistance. Novel Coronavirus was first identified in a cluster with pneumonia symptoms in Wuhan city, Hubei province of China, quickly spreading around the world. On early March 2020, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic had officially started, becoming the defining global health crisis of our time. Today, it is the greatest challenge people have faced since World War II, worsened by subsequent lockdowns of whole countries, collapse of entire industries, and a major economic recession.
